Police: Armed robbery at Quality Inn

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Huntsville police reported a robbery at a business on University Drive Sunday morning.

Officers said a business robbery occurred on the 3000 block of University Drive at the Quality Inn. The alert went out around 8:20 a.m.

Police said a man robbed the clerk of the Quality Inn. The clerk told police that the robber entered the lobby area, pulled out a handgun and told her to, "Give me the cash." The clerk said that she gave the robber the cash drawer, and he asked her about the safe. According to police, the clerk told the robber she couldn't open it, and the robber told her to lay down on the floor.

Police said the robber fled to what is believed to be a white Crown Vic car outside. Officers said the clerk stayed on the floor for several minutes after the robbery.

No one has been arrested yet.
