HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

If you have been mulling a run for office this year but haven't made a decision yet, you are almost out of time.

The Alabama Secretary of State announced that both parties have agreed to end qualifying on Feb. 7, instead of the original date of April 4.

Jim Bennett said the US Department of Justice gave permission for the move, which will guarantee military and absentee voters a chance to vote in June's primary election.
