Montgomery families welcome New Year's Day babies

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

While most were welcoming in the New Year, there were some families in Montgomery welcoming new additions.

Rhea Lindsay, of  Montgomery, gave birth to her son Callen at 7:05 a.m. Wednesday. Callen weighed 5 pounds, 13 ounces and was 19 inches long.

Callen was the second child born at Jackson Hospital in the New Year.

It was also the second child for Rhea and her husband Paul. The couple's other son, Aidan, was born the day Paul returned from serving in Iraq.

    Just after 1 p.m. Monday, Albertville Police were called to respond to a fight on Highpoint Rd. When they arrived on the scene they found someone shot.  The victim was unable to be life flighted due to heavy cloud cover and was instead taken to Marshall Medical Center South.  Police are still investigating the incident.
