BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Gate City residents say their questions weren't answered about a deadly explosion during a meeting with the Birmingham Housing Authority.

The housing authority wouldn't allow FOX6 News inside the meeting but residents filled us in on the meeting.

"They can't tell us anything, and then they had us bunched up, and then they had us in that little room, and they won't answer any questions," LaToya Moreland said.

At least 100 residents attended the meeting. They tell us they're afraid there will be another explosion.

When asked if the authority gave a reason for not letting us inside the meeting, residents say they were told "it's none of your business" and for us to "pray about it."

Kess Tani says prayer alone won't fix the problems.

"I feel from my own standpoint that Alagasco should come here and take out all the piping and put in brand new ones, they've been collecting money forever," Tani said.

FOX6 News has called the housing authority and asked to speak with the executive director about why we weren't allowed in the meeting. We are still waiting on a response.

The Dec. 17 explosion killed one woman and injured eight others.
