A DeKalb County woman has been indicted after her child was found with bleeding on the brain.

Sabrina Nicole Sprayberry, 20, was arrested Dec. 27 on aggravated child abuse charges. DeKalb County investigators said she drove the child to a Marshall County hospital in August. The child was transported to Children's Hospital in Birmingham for surgery. The child was nearly a year old at the time of the incident.

DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris said the child is recovering, but it is unknown whether there will be any long-term damage.
