DeKalb Co. woman indicted for child abuse

A DeKalb County woman has been indicted for aggravated child abuse. A DeKalb County woman has been indicted for aggravated child abuse.
FORT PAYNE, AL (WAFF) -

A DeKalb County woman has been indicted after her child was found with bleeding on the brain. 

Sabrina Nicole Sprayberry, 20, was arrested Dec. 27 on aggravated child abuse charges. DeKalb County investigators said she drove the child to a Marshall County hospital in August. The child was transported to Children's Hospital in Birmingham for surgery. The child was nearly a year old at the time of the incident.

DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris said the child is recovering, but it is unknown whether there will be any long-term damage. 

Sprayberry is out on a $25,000 bond.

    A ground search ensued that lasted about four hours and covered approximately six miles, ending a few hundred yards east of Hays Mill Road where the suspects were caught in a hunting stand/shoot house.
