HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

There once was a quirky crook who said he didn't want to go back to jail. So what did he do? He committed another crime, of course. For him, it gets even worse from there.

Our apparently confused crook is seen leaving the Sparkman Drive Walmart Dec. 4. Police said he has an external hard drive taken from the store underneath his clothes.

Seconds after surveillance cameras saw our crook, we are told this guy was confronted by a loss prevention officer and a store manager. Police said the guy shoved the store manager, saying "I will not go back to jail."

By doing that, he turned a simple theft case into a robbery charge.

Despite his desire not to go back to jail, that's exactly where he's headed… with your help, of course.

The pictures of him should be clear enough for you to have a nice payday if you recognize him.

As always, you can make the anonymous call to 256-53-CRIME.

Or to text or e-mail an anonymous tip, head to our Crime Stoppers page for details.

There's up to $1,000 in reward money riding on this.
