LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Limestone County deputies arrested a man Wednesday night in connection to bomb threats made against a Tanner business.

Investigators arrested 32-year-old John David Sanford of Decatur. Authorities said he admitted to calling in a bomb threat Wednesday morning. Sheriff Mike Blakely said he works for a contractor at Carpenter Technology.

Two threats were made in the past two days to Carpenter. The first threat came Tuesday afternoon around 2:30, after which company officials sent employees home for the day.

The second threat came in Wednesday around 9:30 a.m.; 350-400 employees were evacuated while authorities searched the building. No bombs were found in either incident.

"This person was off work Monday and Tuesday and said that he had been sick. Didn't go into work Monday or Tuesday. When he left to go to work this morning, he made this call," said Sheriff Blakely.

"No other reason for it other than being stupid," he added.

Sanford is charged with making a terrorist threat for Wednesday's disruption. Authorities are not sure if he is connected with Tuesday's threat.
