Good Monday evening.
Talk about real-life "Grinches." We're digging deeper in to the story of some thieves who broke into the Madison County Department of Resources warehouse and stole Christmas presents that had been stockpiled for needy children in the area. WAFF 48's Charles Molineaux will have the latest on this unthinkable crime and how you can help fill the void for these children.
We're also looking into a theft ring that's landed 5 arrests so far. Crooks stole items from area Publix and Kroger supermarkets and sold them to local convenience stores to be re-sold. WAFF 48's Sarah Navoy has been on top of this story today and will have the latest details at 10.
Speaking of theft, the holiday season is a major time of the year for shoplifting. Some of the larger businesses in the area have security measures in place. But what about the smaller stores? We spoke with one of those small retailers to find out what sort of spike they see in crime and how they work to prevent it.
We hope you'll join us for these stories and much more tonight at 10.
