HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Police are searching for a child after firefighters responded to a house fire in Huntsville Saturday morning.
Huntsville police said that officers went to 4900 Alburta Road to check on the welfare of a child who had not been to school in two days. Police said they noticed smoke coming from the home, notified Huntsville Fire Department, and attempted to make entry.
Firefighters responded to the house and put the fire out. Police reported that a female victim was found in the house.
Police said the child was not found inside the home and that they have not been able to locate him.
Randle Barrow, 8, is autistic, and the police need the public's help in finding him. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to call Huntsville police at 256-722-7100.
