Metro police receive explosion calls

Metro police are still trying to determine who detonated two explosive devices in a Nashville neighborhood.

Late this afternoon officers responded to Oxbow Drive and nearby Marydale Drive.

On Oxbow, it appeared as though someone set off an explosive inside a mailbox.

"I had a neighbor who called me and said, ‘Hey Dan, your mailbox is smoking. Someone just put an explosive in it,'" said Dan Clemmons.

On Marydale, it was an explosive inside a canister in the middle of the street. That blast burned part of a yard.

"I was sitting in the living room, watching a movie and I heard an explosion," said Sharon Swetman. "I ran to the window and saw my yard on fire. I grabbed my coat and came outside, and then when I walked around my house I saw another area of the yard on fire."

At this point, police don't have any suspects.

Clemmons said they have a neighborhood watch program and that neighbors do look out for each other.
