Good Thursday evening. Here's a look at a few of the stories we're working on for our 10 o'clock newscast here in the WAFF 48 newsroom.
The public is getting a chance to sound off in front of the city council on a proposed one percent sales tax hike by Mayor Tommy Battle. Mayor Battle says the revenue will help pay for 7 road projects in the city. WAFF 48's Sarah Navoy was on hand for tonight's public hearing and will have more on the reaction from residents and city council members on this proposal.
We also checking into a bizarre lawsuit filed in Madison County Circuit Court. The plaintiff alleges that they ate food contaminated with human blood at the Sonic restaurant on Bob Wallace Avenue in Huntsville. We'll hear from both sides in this case.
And in a WAFF 48 Investigation, Charles Molineaux is checking into how the quality and response time of emergency response times can affect your home and business insurance. Charles checks out the Madison County Volunteer fire department which is rated among the best in Alabama. It's valuable information on so-called "ISO ratings" that could impact you and your wallet.
