Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 9 a.m. Tuesday

Posted: Updated:

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from midnight until 9 a.m. Tuesday morning for most of North Alabama and southern middle Tennessee (including Lauderdale, Colbert, Franklin, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Morgan, and Jackson Counties in AL and Lincoln, Franklin, and Moore Counties in TN).

Another round of rain will transition to a mix of cold rain and freezing rain overnight as temperatures fall to around freezing. This could cause a light glazing of ice and some slicks spots on bridges and overpasses early Tuesday morning. Some light snow showers could also mix in around daybreak. The precipitation will come to an end by mid morning.

While widespread travel issues are not expected, enough sleet and freezing rain could fall to lead to a some slippery spots developing after midnight.

You can keep up with the weather conditions with our 48 Storm Team weather app for iPhone, Android and iPad. We'll also update you on Twitter and Facebook.
