Former Madison Co. employee under investigation

Good evening and TGIF!

We're continuing to investigate the case of a former Madison County employee who's now being investigated by the Alabama Attorney General's office. WAFF 48's Shumuriel Ratliff will have the latest details on this case involving an alleged misappropriation of funds, and involves tens of thousands of dollars over the last several years. The suspect is a former assistant to former Madison County Commissioner Jerry Craig.

We're also looking into another Madison County employee in trouble with the law. The catch here is this is a former law enforcement officer. Former Madison County Sheriff's Investigator Shawn McClure was booked into the Madison County Metro Jail on 2 Class C felonies, one being theft. WAFF 48's Sarah Navoy will have the latest on the case, including reaction from Madison County Sheriff Blake Dorning.

And the Nashville nightclub owner who shot and killed country music singer and Arab native Wayne Mills Nov. 23 has been arrested. Chris Ferrell claimed he shot Mills in self defense after the two got into an argument. But Ferrell has now been arrested and charged with second- degree murder. This as Wayne Mills is set to be laid to rest in Arab this weekend. WAFF 48's Charles Molineaux spoke with a Guntersville night club owner who was a close friend of Mills and he'll have his reaction to Mills' murder and today's arrest.

We'll see you tonight at 10.
