ATHENS, AL (WAFF) -

Athens Police are looking for three people they said broke into a gun store and stole several weapons, including three AR-15s.

The guns were stolen during a break-in early Friday morning from Craig's Guns and Tactical on Highway 72, near Interstate 65.

The burglars stole four camouflage Smith & Wesson M&P AR-15s and several Glocks and Colt pistols.

"They only got thirty or so guns out of 1,200. So it's the physical damage they did that far outweighed what they actually stole," said store owner Craig Brown.

Investigators say three people were involved and the truck used in the burglary was stolen in Madison County. The truck was recovered and is being processed for evidence.

Brown said his shop will be ready to open again Saturday at 9 a.m.

Anyone with information about the burglary should call Athens Police at 256-233-8700.
