MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

New China Buffet on Jordan Lane in Huntsville scored an 83 with the Madison County Health Department. The inspector reported raw eggs at 54 degrees and stored cooked noodles at 47 degrees, both above the maximum 41 degree temperature required to prevent bacterial growth in cold-holding foods. The inspector also took off points because several employee drinks were found stored improperly.

Jay's Mini Mart on Highway 72 in Gurley scored an 84 with the Madison County Health Department. The inspector reported one critical violation for a flour sifter with frayed metal.

The Morgan County Health Department gave JJ's Grocery in Falkville an 83. The inspector reported a hose at the rear of the store did not have proper backflow prevention to make sure contaminated water would not flow back into the water supply. JJ's Grocery also lost points because no one had proof of passing the health department's required food safety course.
