OSP releases final report on Ariel Castro suicide

COLUMBUS, OH (WOIO) -

The Ohio Highway Patrol released their final report Wednesday on their investigation into the suicide of convicted kidnapper Ariel Castro.

The report includes handwritten notes from Castro; one about confessing to Jesus and God forgiving sinners.

Another note lists all his kids and grand kids names with "love" inside a heart.

The report states the prison video shows 27 minutes between last time officer checked on Castro and next time officer looked in and called for help. It also had interviews with prison guards.

The report confirms Castro killed himself and there is no evidence his death was an accident during a sex act.

Just yesterday, the Ohio Department of Corrections released an outside consultant's report reviewing the suicide. That report found Castro had been distressed.

The prison guards on duty at the time of his suicide, have been disciplined. They have been allowed to keep their jobs, providing good behavior for the next two years.

Castro hanged himself with a bed sheet inside his cell at facility in Orient, Ohio on September 3, 2013.

He had just begun to serve a life sentence for abducting Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus and keeping them captive in his Cleveland Seymour Avenue home for decades.
