Woman killed in wreck involving log truck in Lauderdale Co.

One person was killed in a morning crash in Lexington. One person was killed in a morning crash in Lexington.
LEXINGTON, AL (WAFF) -

One person was killed in a morning crash in Lexington that sent another person to the hospital.

According to the Rogersville police chief, the woman died after colliding with a log truck on Highway 64 around 9:15 a.m. Wednesday.

First responders said when they arrived on scene, the log truck and car were engulfed in flames. The crash left debris across the roadway, forcing emergency crews to close both lanes while they cleaned the area.

Emergency officials pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Crews airlifted the driver of the log truck to Huntsville Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

Alabama State Troopers are investigating the crash.
