Suspect alleges murder victim attacked him over gambling debt

Good Tuesday evening. Here's a look at just a few of the stories we're working on here in the WAFF 48 newsroom for our 10 PM newscast.

We're continuing to dig deeper into the new developments in a Florence murder investigation. We've uncovered new details on a complaint filed by the attorney for Jeremy Williams. Williams is accused of killing Brioni "Bree" Rutland. But the attorney for the killer in question, Jeremy Williams, claims that Rutland got into an argument with Williams over a gambling debt and threatened to cut off his fingers one at a time until the debt was paid. WAFF 48's Shumuriel Ratliff will have more on Williams' claims of killing Rutland in self defense.

We're also digging deeper into a lawsuit filed by a Huntsville motorist against both the city of Huntsville and the Huntsville Police Department over claims of an illegal strip search during a traffic stop. WAFF 48's Sarah Navoy will have an exclusive interview with the  motorist's attorney over these rather unusual charges.

And WAFF 48 Storm Team Chief Meteorologist Brad Travis will have the latest on a crazy weather forecast for the Tennessee Valley that includes a dramatic drop in temperatures, and even a chance for freezing rain or sleet for parts of our viewing area.

We hope you'll join us for WAFF 48 News at 10.
