FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -

A complaint filed by Florence Police states that a murder victim went to the suspect's home to collect a gambling debt.

Brioni ‘Bree' Rutland was found dead Friday. An autopsy revealed the volunteer coach had been stabbed over 30 times and shot in the head.

Florence Police stated Jeremy Williams told them Rutland threatened to cut off Williams' fingers if he didn't pay back a debt, and that Rutland choked him and attempted to cut off Williams' pinky finger with a pocket knife.

Williams reportedly told police he stabbed Rutland before grabbing a gun and shooting him at Williams' apartment in Florence.
