HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

It's all about the perfect gift.

"I want to make them the favorite aunt, favorite cousin," said Huntsville toy store owner Susan Blevins.

Even if getting it means pushing and shoving our way into stores on Black Friday, or waiting until Saturday for local stores to slash prices. Maybe you waited until Cyber Monday, enjoying staggering sales at the click of a mouse.

According to the latest numbers from IBM, online sales are up 20% compared to last year. A third of you used a tablet or smart phone to do the shopping.

The National Retail Federation predicted 2 billion in online sales Monday alone, a record. They say retailers are seeing three times as much growth online, as in stores. However, those standing stores still make up the majority of overall sales.

The Alabama Retail Association predicts sales here in Alabama will increase by about two percent this year.

"Meeting last year's expectations is a win to me," said Blevins.

A fun fact: The ARA said shopping both online and in stores nearly came to a halt for about four hours Saturday afternoon - due to the Iron Bowl.
