LAWRENCE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Two Cullman County men face drug charges in Lawrence County after a traffic stop.

James John Burns and Keith Anthony Brasher were arrested Monday after Lawrence County Drug Task Force agents noticed a suspicious pseudoephedrine purchase that led to a traffic stop.

Sheriff Gene Mitchell said that agents have been working in an effort to halt out-of-county offenders who buy the drug, which is the main ingredient in methamphetamine manufacturing.

Mitchell said that his agents are working hard to try and discourage this activity, working closely with other counties in an attempt to slow the manufacture and distribution of meth.

Burns and Brasher were charged with unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance and booked into the Lawrence County Jail. They were later released on bond.
