MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Rescue crews resumed searching for a man reported missing after his boat was discovered just south of the Guntersville Lock and Dam.

Authorities said Jackie Neil Rowell, 57, of Guntersville, has not been seen or heard from since Nov. 15th when he was reported to have left the marina. Rescuers began their search for Rowell on Nov. 25th when the manager of a marina said he failed to contact them as he normally did after coming back from a trip.

According to authorities, everything inside the boat was in order. A kitten was found inside and was turned over to a family member.

Investigators said evidence suggests that Rowell fell out of the boat.

The Sheriff's Marine Unit, Sheriff's Aviation Unit, Alabama Marine Police, and Guntersville Rescue Squad have conducted daily searches for Rowell. On Saturday Nov. 30, a helicopter scanned the area and will be continue to be used when weather permits.
