It was cold with a little wind but no problem as Auburn fans like Ryan Molt checked on the turkey and sides in one of the RV spots on this Thanksgiving Day on the Plains.

And for good measure his friends brought along the tailgate buggy complete with a siren!

"It has a margarita machine on it as well," Molt said.

Molt says the buggy used to belong to Auburn athletics back in the '80s and once carted famed Auburn running back Bo Jackson off the field after a minor injury.

"If we win you buy me a car," Mrs. LaHue told her husband of more than 40 years. Mr. LaHue did not accept the bet.

A few RV's away Cathy LaSource of Fairhope, Alabama, can't wait to start serving up the smoked turkey and much more.

"We'll have corn, sweet potatoes, broccoli and rice casserole, and cornbread dressing," said LaSource.

Even though the Crimson Tide is number one and Auburn is sitting at number 4, the rankings didn't matter today.

For these folks in the RV neighborhood breaking bread with loved ones mattered more than a game.

"Our family and friends are number one with us," said LaHue.

"Life is too short. You can't take your family and friends for granted," said LaSource.

"It doesn't get any better than this," said Molt.

But beginning Friday the flavor of the atmosphere will change. There's an epic match-up to digest.
