HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A Huntsville man is dead and police have another person in custody following a shooting in an apartment, as neighbors worry about their continued safety.

The Twickenham Village Apartments in North Huntsville was the site of Wednesday night's shooting in which Jason Akeem Lewis was gunned down. A resident at the complex who did not want to be identified voiced her frustrations and concerns about what she calls a violent trend in the area.

"I know a man was shot getting his mail right in here, and then there was a man that got broke into, and he was shot to death," the woman said.

Huntsville Police are not releasing many details about Wednesday night's fatal shooting. They did say the victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to Huntsville Hospital where he later died.

Police are calling it a death investigation, and they said officers did arrest one person on the scene, but have not revealed whether or not that person is charged with a crime.

The woman we spoke to said her family has debated leaving the complex and this latest shooting could be the deciding factor.

"Our lease is up, we're thinking about moving, but I don't know. It's just moving is a lot of trouble," she said.
