Boy falls from railroad trestle, fractures ankle

HINDS COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A young boy fell off a railroad trestle Wednesday afternoon and fractured his ankle.

Fourteen-year-old Ryan Roberts and a friend were playing on the trestle when he fell. First responders and the Terry Volunteer Fire Department were able to rescue the boy. 

He was rushed to the emergency room at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Ryan underwent surgery on his ankle Wednesday evening, and should be released from the hospital Friday.
