The Jimmie Hale Mission is busy cooking enough food for 1,500 meals to serve this Thanksgiving.
They provide those meals between Wednesday and Thursday at their three facilities and to senior citizens who are homebound.
That equals to 70 turkeys, 24 pans of stuffing and 125 pies. The meals are possible thanks to donations and to hundreds of volunteers. Many of them make this a family tradition.
"Thanksgiving means giving thanks. The best way to give thanks is to give back. And what better way by coming and being involved in helping those less fortunate. And you're just reminded of your blessing and how blessed you are," Tony Cooper said.
Each meal costs $1.95. If you would like to donate to the Jimmie Hale Mission, please visit http://www.jimmiehalemission.com/.
