The Alabama Emergency Management Agency says it is monitoring the weather and is on standby coordinate resources.

The National Weather Service is predicting a period of moderate rainfall Tuesday night, along with the possibility of minor accumulations of sleet and/or snow.

Drivers should be extremely cautious and stay up-to-date by following the Doppler 12 StormVision team on-air, online and on their mobile devices.

Residents in Central and North Alabama should minimize travel this evening, according to the EMA, and if travel is necessary, keep a disaster supply kit in their vehicle.
