SHEFFIELD, AL (WAFF) -

One lucky student in the Shoals won tickets for their family to attend the most anticipated game of the year - all by reading books.

All students kindergarten through eighth grade across the state had the opportunity to participate in this contest. Judges randomly selected two winners: one Auburn fan and one Alabama fan.

Quinton Phipps is one of the nearly 75,000 students chosen to win one of the two pairs of tickets. Quinton's in kindergarten at Threadgill Primary School in Sheffield.

To qualify, students had to read at least six reading level appropriate books to put their name into a hat. Association members said a total of 728 schools participated and nearly a half a million books were read since the contest started in August.

The winner of the Alabama fan tickets went to a second grader at Jemmison Elementary School.
