Rantankerous [ran-tank'uhr-us] (adjective) - A combination of rant [to speak in a wild or extravagant manner] and cantankerous [contentious, disagreeable]. The word is a creation of the Raycom Digital Hub staff and the only suitable description for the epic arguments between Brian "What We Learned" Tynes and George "Hot Reads" Jones, which until now have never been recorded.

(RNN) - If you can imagine taking the "foot" out of football, you have a lot in common with high school football coach Kevin Kelley.

He never kicks the ball, and that seriously works for him. Like, three state championships serious.

George is totally enamored with the idea, but Brian thinks that's exactly the type of poisoned philosophy that will ruin the game and turn it into the non-U.S. version of football. You know, the kind where guys look like they're running around aimlessly and can get ejected just for bumping an opposing player too hard.

Wait. That already happens during 49ers games, so we may be onto something.

Also this week: Were the Patriots robbed, or did the Panthers earn a win? There's no hand-checking in college basketball! And in honor of the "selfie," we think of other words to label taking ridiculous photos of yourself that other people pretend they care about as much as you.

Include arguments of your own in the comments section below.
