AUBURN, AL (RNN) - Auburn took an early lead and held on to it for the entire game, soundly defeating Jacksonville State 78-54.
The Tigers (2-1) took advantage of the Gamecocks' (0-5) 14 turnovers but made nine in the process. The Tigers also made 23 of their 31 free throws.
Auburn's defense limited JSU to 19 points in the first half and 35 in the second - a total that was a season low for the Gamecocks.
Chris Denson scored 15 points for Auburn and Dion Wade hit two consecutive 3-pointers.
Auburn moves on to host Murray State on Saturday, Nov. 23.
