A former Madison County inmate, mistakenly diagnosed with a sexually-transmitted disease while in jail, is suing the Sheriff and the jail healthcare provider.

A jury heard testimony Tuesday in the lawsuit by Randolph and Angela Moore. Randolph claims he was told a blood test in 2010 showed he had an STD.

Both he and his wife were in the middle of treatment when they were told of the error.

Moore's lawsuit claims they suffered pain and mental anguish due to negligence by Advance Correctional Healthcare.
