Man arrested for breaking into Shoals business

LAUDERDALE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Deputies arrested and charged a man with breaking into a store in Lauderdale County.

Authorities said the burglary happened around 12:30 early Monday morning at Cooley's Corner.

Investigators said Dennis Dewayne Nichol's used a sledge hammer to break in through the burglar bars. Deputies showed up on scene and caught him inside the store.

Nichols was charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree theft, public intoxication and resisting arrest.

He is currently out on a $5,500 bond.
