HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Firefighters are on the scene of a structure fire Tuesday morning.

The fire started at 2411 Virginia Boulevard in northwest Huntsville. Firefighters have the fire under control but are continuing to work on hot spots.

Firefighters said the resident was inside the home at the time, but she was not injured. Authorities said the fire started in the attic, and the resident didn't know her house was on fire until her neighbor called her.

The woman said she couldn't smell it because it was only in the attic, but the neighbor had seen smoke coming from the house.

A cause has not been determined yet. American Red Cross is at the house.
