DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

The Decatur City Council is pushing back a final decision on the old L&N Train Depot.

The facility is located off Vine Street. City leaders said they plan to use part of the building to house the police department's traffic division and to store evidence and records. They said the other half of the facility would be a museum.

It will be another month before the city officially announces what they will do with the property.

"The Planning Department believes that all the dominoes are in place and all the major cost factors are there and known now, and it can be presented with a final number," said Mayor Don Kyle.

If approved, the majority of the purchasing money will come from an Alabama Department of Transportation grant.
