Today, the Athens City Schools Superintendent will announce plans to upgrade and improve the district's schools.
Opening statements and testimony began Monday in the trial of a state trooper charged in connection with a fatal wreck in Limestone County.
James Heath Moss faces two counts of criminally negligent homicide. Investigators said Moss was responding to another accident when he hit a vehicle on Lucas Ferry Road.
Authorities said that car ended up on fire in a field; the Gossetts died in the crash.
Monday, prosecutors said Moss was traveling at no more than 106 miles per hour, not 120 as he was originally accused of.
