MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Nearly two weeks ago, the St. Jude Educational Institute football team borrowed Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School's facilities for their playoff game, and parents say the St. Jude players found a rope that looked a lot like a noose hanging on a locker.

A picture of the rope with a loop at the end tied with a slip knot has gained traction on various social media sites with wide ranging comments surrounding racism.

St. Jude's Parent Teacher Student Organization met Wednesday night and parents in attendance say the matter dominated the conversation. The parents say they were told the Archdiocese in Mobile is now investigating the matter. Both schools fall under the Archdiocese's jurisdiction.

This week, parents of St. Jude students contacted WSFA 12 News through email, text messages and phone calls with invitations to Wednesday's meeting. But when we arrived on campus, the administration asked us to leave the property.

Parents say the school is asking parents to work with the school and not reach out to the media.

The parents we spoke with said they are much more satisfied after attending the meeting than they were when they thought no answers were being sought. In fact, they had gone as far as starting the process of filing a complain with the Department of Justice. WSFA 12 News contacted DOJ Wednesday to confirm this but haven't hear back.

WSFA 12 News tried to reach each of the schools involved to get answers last week. Phone calls, text messages and even a visit to Montgomery Catholic resulted only in this written statement Friday night from Montgomery Catholic:

"We are aware of issues raised by parents from a local school that used our facilities. We have investigated the matter promptly and thoroughly and have determined there is no merit to the issue and as far as we are concerned this matter is closed."

Our attempts to contact St. Jude's administration have been unsuccessful.
