MACON CO., AL (WSFA) -

The Alabama Supreme Court has appointed a new judge to oversee the case between the State of Alabama and Victoryland in an ongoing legal battle over whether the Macon County gaming facility's machines are legal.

The court ruled Montgomery Judge, William Shashy, to preside over the state's forfeiture case against Victoryland.

Court records show all qualified judges in the 5th Judicial Circuit, which covers Macon County, are recused from the case.
