We've seen some pretty strange items stolen in our weekly Crime Stoppers segments: everything from a box of cigarettes, to cologne, to farm equipment.

You can add another one to this growing list: a pair of tennis shoes.

This week, we see a crook trying on several pairs of Chuck Taylor tennis shoes at the JCPenney in Madison Square Mall Aug. 25th.

On surveillance video, you can see she has a friend sitting nearby, wearing some Chuck Taylors.

It appears she's trying to get some like her friends. Eventually, the crook finds them, and puts them on.

You can't see it on camera, but according to police, she walked out of the store with those stolen shoes.

And when a store security officer tried to stop her, she and her friend fought them off and then jumped into a blue 4-door sedan, possibly a Kia Rio.

We're talking about shoes here.

Whether it's dress shoes, or Chuck Taylors or Nikes.

The crook here risks a strong arm robbery charge.

With your help, we can track this crook's footsteps and track them down.

Had the robber and her friend not gotten into a fight with security, this would have only been a petty theft. That was a bad move.

If you recognize her, you can make a good move by turning her in.

There's a reward of up to a thousand dollars for you.

Just phone in your anonymous tips to 256-53-CRIME.
