HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Cedrick Lamond Hicks pleaded not guilty to nine bank robbery charges and two attempted bank robbery charges, Wednesday morning.

Hicks appeared in a federal courthouse for his arraignment in Huntsville. Hicks had been nicknamed the "Ball Cap Bandit" after he held up banks across North Alabama and Southern Tennessee wearing a ball cap during every attempt.

Authorities caught Hicks during a traffic stop in Decatur.

Hicks also faces one count of first-degree robbery in Alabama State Court for the robbery of the Regions Bank in Rogersville in Nov. 2012.

None of Hicks' family were inside the courtroom when he appeared in front of the judge. The judge did not discuss bond arrangements.
