TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -
Toledo Police say one person is dead after an overnight shooting outside Royale Place, a south Toledo club near Airport Highway and Wenz Road.
Police say 26-year-old Jomar Quinn was shot after an altercation escalated. Shots were reportedly fired around 1 a.m. Wednesday, and several bullet casings were found at the scene.
A person of interest is currently being questioned by the police, but it is uncertain if said person is a suspect.
Police say they know exactly who killed Quinn, but are not releasing many details. No charges have been filed and the person will not be arrested at this time because police say it was a licensed CCW holder who came up to Quinn, who was armed at the time.
Police spent hours interviewing the shooter and witnesses. Even though there are no current charges, future charges are not ruled out.
"Other options would be to file charges on this person later, at a later time, if more evidence develops, or possibly run the case by a grand jury to see what their take is on it," explained Sgt. Joe Heffernan with the Toledo Police Department.
