Freeze warning issued for central Alabama

Posted: Updated:
MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Temperatures will fall below freezing across central Alabama Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

A freeze warning will be in effect from midnight Tuesday to 9 a.m. Wednesday and again from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 9 a.m. Thursday.

Temperatures will drop to the 30s by mid to late evening Tuesday with an overnight low in the upper 20s.

Although winds won't be quite as strong Wednesday morning, they will be strong enough to produce wind chills at or below 20 early on.

Wednesday will be a raw wintry day with sunshine, but highs barely into the low 50s and a northeast wind at 10 to 18, which will make it seem colder.

The arctic cold snap won't last long. By Thursday afternoon, we will be flirting with the 60 degree mark.
