Huntingdon College wrestling coach Tom Storey served 20 years in the United States Navy beginning with four years at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis and then climbing the ranks to commander. He retired in September.
"Pretty much over those 20 years I've figured up at one point to be about six and a half years outside of the country," Storey said.
Storey was hired in September to build the Hawks wrestling program.
It will be the state's only four-year college with the sport.
He still takes time on Veterans Day to think back on those 20 years spent serving the country at home and on foreign soil.
"I still look at the people out there and doing the things that are keeping us free right now," said Storey.
The Pennsylvania native wrestled all four years in the Naval Academy.
Two of those years he qualified for nationals.
Now, he looks to use his experiences in the Navy to groom wrestlers at Huntingdon.
"It's a full circle. That culmination where now I want to give back to the kids that are coming through and teach them the same things," Storey said.
