2 killed in crash along I-65 in Marshall County

LEWISBURG, TN (WSMV) -

The Tennessee Highway Patrol has identified the two people killed and one injured in an early morning crash Thursday along Interstate 65 in Marshall County.

The crash was reported just after 1 a.m. near mile marker 30 and had southbound lanes closed until about 9 a.m. as emergency crews worked at the scene.

THP says a 2002 Ford Taurus was stopped in the center of both southbound lanes, and its driver, 56-year-old Derick Bostick, of Racine, WI, was standing outside the car in the interstate. It's unclear why the car was stationary or why Bostick was standing outside the car.

Several vehicles, including two tractor trailers, swerved to avoid hitting Bostick or the Taurus, but were unable to miss hitting them or the other vehicles involved.

Dakota Blevins, 19, of Rising Fawn, GA, a passenger in a 2002 Chrysler sedan, was killed when the vehicle in which he was riding collided into the back of one tractor trailer.

The driver of the Chrysler, 20-year-old Emily Macon, of Bethpage, TN, was injured.

Troopers have ordered toxicology test as part of the investigation.
