International Paper hosts job fair for mill workers

COURTLAND, AL (WAFF) -

Thirty companies will be on site for a job fair hosted by International Paper for workers affected by the mill closure.

International Paper announced the closure of their Courtland mill in September. The closure will impact 1,100 employees.

The job fair runs Nov. 7 and 8 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Courtland Baptist Church located on Tennessee Street.

The job fair is not open to the public and all Courtland mill employees must present their employee badge to enter the fair.

    A ground search ensued that lasted about four hours and covered approximately six miles, ending a few hundred yards east of Hays Mill Road where the suspects were caught in a hunting stand/shoot house.
