MADISON, AL (WAFF) -

Students at one Tennessee Valley school got out early Tuesday due to an electrical issue.

James Clemens High School released students at 1:45 p.m.

Superintendent Dee Fowler said one of the main transformers that feeds electricity to the building had an oil leak and had to be replaced. Crews from Athens Utilities are making the changes to prevent power fluctuations that could damage all electronic equipment at the school.

Fowler said crews hope to have the issue resolved by the start of school Tuesday.
