HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A geo-energy cyber summit is set for later this month in the Rocket City.

Mayor Tommy Battle combined three economic development initiatives – Geo Huntsville, Energy Huntsville, and Cyber Huntsville. The lead for Geo Huntsville, Joe Franicica, said he wants Huntsville to be a magnet for other companies developing this type of technology.

He said the summit has national and regional importance to draw companies to North Alabama.

"We want the business school at UAH to help support these entrepreneurial efforts, which is a large focus of the summit this year. We're going to have an entire panel dedicated to nothing but how does the community attract new businesses and support the efforts that are here around these technology efforts," said Franicica.

The summit is set for Nov. 14 and 15 at the Davidson Center.
