MONROVIA, AL (WAFF) -

A WAFF 48 viewer is asking for your help in identifying a crook that broke into his car in his driveway.

It happened in the early morning hours of Oct. 25 at Amber's Crossing, in the Monrovia area of Madison County. Homeowner Randall Rushing's surveillance equipment shows a crook calmly stealing cash from Rushing's car (http://bit.ly/181BTCC).

Randall said law enforcement told him they have worked ten similar break-ins that same weekend.

If you know who this guy is, make the anonymous call to Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers at 256-53-CRIME. There is a reward available.

We did some checking into the growth of home video surveillance system such as the one Rushing installed. Business is apparently booming.

Approximately 20% of all homes now have some type of video surveillance system. An estimated 95% of homeowners report the systems to be an effective deterrent and make them feel safer.

Stats show a home without a security system of any sort is 2-3 times more likely to be broken into.
