FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -

The man accused of murdering a woman and leaving her body in a Florence motel room made an appearance in court Friday for preliminary hearings in a burglary case.

Eugene Lee Jones is accused of breaking into a home on Minnehaha Street in Florence the day before Lula Addison's body was discovered inside the City Lodge Motel. Investigators said Jones stole jewelry and medicine from the home.

The burglary case will now move forward to a grand jury. The Addison murder trial is scheduled to begin Dec. 2.
