Moonshine still found, man arrested

LAWRENCE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Lawrence County deputies arrested a man and seized a moonshine still in the Langtown Community.

Shawnrie Herschel Osborn, 35 of Moulton, was arrested and charged with one count of illegal possession of a still.

Authorities arrested Osborn after receiving a tip that he was involved in the illegal manufacturing of liquor. According to deputies, Osborn had been making moonshine over the last four to five months.

After a searching a residence on Highway 33 in Moulton, deputies found equipment used to make moonshine and a barrel with 15 gallons of mash that investigators said Osborn was getting ready to make moonshine with.

The still was dismantled and seized as evidence.

Osborn was booked into the county jail and released on a $2,000 bond.
