HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Dr. Amish Bharat Shah was found guilty of harassment in Madison County Thursday morning.

He was sentenced to 60 days suspended sentence and one year probation. He must also pay a fine and court costs.

Shah was charged with harassment after a Huntsville Hospital employee filed a report against him. Police haven't released details about what that employee said he did.

Shah, a nephrologist, is an independent member of the medical staff at both Huntsville Hospital and Crestwood Medical Center.

Patrick Tuten, Shah's attorney, said a "stipulation and appeal" has been entered, a procedural move to get the case into the Circuit Court. Tuten said Shah has not admitted wrongdoing and continues to maintain his innocence to the harrassment charge.
